Are you an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer eager to lead transformative projects in renewable energy? We are now looking for a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join Liquid Wind and play a key role in the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and integration of cutting-edge eMethanol plants. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of sustainable energy development, helping to shape the future of green hydrogen and biogenic carbon capture.
The location for this position is in Copenhagen or Gothenburg. There will be some travel within the role. The company language is English, and preferably you understand and speak a Scandinavian language. You will report to the Head of Engineering and Project Management based in Hørsholm, Denmark.
About the role
As Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of electrical and instrumentation systems for our eMethanol production facilities. Your primary focus will be to ensure seamless integration of electrical and control systems across methanol production, green hydrogen and biogenic carbon capture plants. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize performance, cost and operational efficiency, ensuring all designs comply with international safety and industry standards.
You will, among other things...
- Lead the electrical and instrumentation design process, including simulation, analysis and testing.
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC, ATEX and best practices in electrical and instrumentation design.
- Oversee the design and integration of power distribution (HV/LV), control panels and automation systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align designs with project requirements, including cost-effectiveness and performance optimization.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications and test reports.
- Manage FEED projects from concept to execution, ensuring smooth project integration and system reliability.
About you
We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with extensive experience in industrial plant design and a strong understanding of power distribution, automation, and control systems. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, have a structured approach to engineering execution, and can effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
To succeed in this role, you have:
- A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in plant design, preferably within methanol production, green hydrogen, or biogenic carbon capture.
- Expertise in power distribution systems, automation technologies and process control systems.
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems, DCS and HART communication protocols.
- Proven experience managing complex FEED projects, ensuring functional, cost-efficient and scalable designs.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
