The world rapidly needs to electrify to replace fossil fuels on a massive scale. The hard-to-abate sectors like shipping, aviation and heavy land transport cannot be electrified with battery power and require a different type of electrification: Electrofuel made from renewable electricity and biogenic CO2.
Our business model is designed for scale, and we have a solid pipeline of projects in development in the Nordic countries with the goal of reaching Financial Investment Decision (FID) for 10 projects by 2027. We have a strong group of investors, including Alfa Laval, Carbon Clean, Elyse Energy, HyCap, Siemens Energy, Topsoe and Uniper.
Liquid Wind is a fast-growing company, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and with a presence in Denmark, Finland and the UK. We have approx. 70 employees and are looking for a person that enjoys developing and growing together with the company.
The location for this position is preferably in Denmark, in the Copenhagen area. Sweden is also a possible location.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Cost Estimation Manager to join our Strategic Contracting & Procurement team. In the role you will be responsible for development of the total capital cost estimates for our eFuel facilities. You’ll work closely with the Liquid Wind team as well as our key external partners (Integrator and OEMs) to produce accurate and high-quality cost estimates and support the development of the projects.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development and establishment of cost estimating procedures and guidelines, including estimation philosophy and methods
- Develop project cost estimates to support all phases of project development from the initial phases to full funding of the projects, including development of basis of estimate, plans and reporting
- Ensuring alignment on the cost estimate across the project teams, and communicating updates to project members and sponsors
- Provide support and input to optimize economic project design and execution, through conducting cost analysis to assess the viability of cost reduction opportunities
- Participate in meetings with potential investors presenting the cost estimates for specific projects
- Build, manage and maintain a cost database across projects to ensure transparency and focus on cost developments
You will be reporting to the Head of Strategic Contracting & Procurement located in Hørsholm, Denmark.
About you
You are a confident, proactive, and resilient individual who has significant relevant experience. In your role, you will collaborate across departments, which will require leadership, teamwork, communication and influencing skills.
- Proven experience as an estimator within a capital-intensive industry, and with experience working with capital project management processes
- In-depth knowledge of cost estimating methodologies, preferably the AACE framework, techniques and best practices, and demonstrated experience in setting up procedures and guidelines
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions
- Team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, self-motivated and success driven, yet able and willing to take direction
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple, concurrent projects and deadlines
The company language is English, and preferably you understand and speak a Scandinavian language.
